As you are all probably well aware I work for Vermont Business Magazine, their office has been located at 2 Church Street in Burlington, Vermont for the past 15 years or so. I've been working there for a little over 2 years, and already we're moving offices, I'm not saying I had anything to do with that, I'm just saying. I'm very excited for the move it means a more defined office space, and better parking. We are moving to 365 Dorset Street in South Burlington, I've been working on networking the new building which has involved a lot of crawling around in the attic. We will also have our new sign that I designed up on Dorset street soon so look out for that.

In other news I think I've made the decision to change my major, don't worry, it doesn't mean any more work or redoing any credits. I'm changing my major at Vermont Tech from Computer Information Technology to Computer Software Engineering. I'm mainly doing this because for some reason the CIS major has a lot of accounting courses for some reason, which I'm really not into. Also I've found that I actually can enjoy programming.

I am working with Scott DesJardins, an entreprenuer from northeastern Vermont as well as my fiance's brother, to produce a video podcast. The podcast is called I Like Beer TV and can be found at http://ilikebeer.tv. This project while it will be fun, is also a little experiment in web marketing.

The premise of the podcast is as follows. Two men will sit in front of a camera or multiple cameras if things work out well and drink and review beers in a fun and zany manner. The show is made for everyone and anyone that enjoys beer. I have actually wanted to do this show for sometime now but being underage inhibited me from actually doing it, so I am excited to finally persue my idea. We will be taping our first episodes this weekend so look for the preiere @ http://ilikebeer.tv

Hectic Life

It's been a while. It has been a hectic couple of months. I feel that things will start to calm down in about another month or so. It all started when I decided to take on the enourmous task of redesiging my companies website, Vermont Business Magazine. I say it was an enourmous task because I had to migrate over 5000 company records, 3000 news articles, and 3000 monthly articles. On top of maintaining that project, which was launched in January I have been filling in as Production Manager while Tina, our regular Production Manager, was out on maternity leave. So I have had the oppertunity of trying to slap together a magazine on top of my regular web responsibilities. It really has been a challage.

So if I have not responded to an email you sent me, declined to friend you on Facebook or have just generally been ignoring you for the past couple months. I appoligize.

Bolton Valley Opening Day 2008

Things are going very well and I have acomplished many good things for the business. Today I had my yearly review. Things went really quite well and my employer had a lot of good things to say about the work I have been doing for them. This is quite the acomplishment for me as I have never found a job that I have enjoyed enough to keep me interested in staying long term.

I am no longer just a production assistant, my new title is Director of New Media. Finally I have a title to reflect what I do for the company. I manage everything from IT to web to video productions. This is what has really kept me interested is the diversity of the work that I do. The biggest project I have been working on is the new web presence for Vermont Business Magazine, the newly redesigned and rearchitected vermontbiz.com.

Getting to the point I am writing about this to let you know that I plan on doing some more recordings soon. I'm actually planning on trying to record an EP of my original songs and really taking the time to get perfected recordings. So look for either some more information about my EP or some actual recordings soon.
